What does BAFA Management Consulting mean?

BAFA funding for management consulting ( often referred to as "funding for entrepreneurial know-how") is a program that provides government support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and freelancers. The aim is to strengthen your business—strategically, organizationally, or in areas such as digitalization, marketing, leadership, etc.

Who is eligible for the subsidy?

You can use BAFA management consulting if:

  1. SME or freelancer: your company is small or medium-sized and based in Germany.
  2. Start-up: you have been on the market for less than two years.
  3. Existing companies: already active for three or more years.
  4. Companies in financial difficulties: The program also applies here under certain conditions.
  5. Before applying, you must attend a free information session, e.g., with a BAFA regional partner.

What is being promoted?

Consulting services are eligible for funding, for example:

  • Strategy consulting – e.g., growth or marketing strategies
  • Optimization of your online presence (website, visibility, social media)
  • Digitization of workflows, business processes
  • Business models, transformation, innovation
  • Leadership, organizational structure, employee management, or personnel development

Purely operational services (e.g., complete implementation of a website, advertising, or running costs) are not eligible for funding—the focus is on consulting, analysis, planning, and recommendations for action.

How much is the subsidy?

  • Depending on the region and the company's situation, BAFA covers up to 80% of eligible consulting costs.
  • In many cases, subsidies of at least 50% are possible.
  • The maximum subsidy per consultation is often around €2,800.(Regional differences are possible .)
  • As certified consultants, we support you in obtaining the maximum subsidy possible.

What is the process when you work with cse ventures?

  3. Submitting an application to the BAFA
    We will help you with the application process—ensuring that all documents are correct and that you receive approval as quickly as possible.

  4. consultation Once approved, we will conduct the consultation. Analysis, consultation, strategy, and recommendation.

  5. report & evidence At the end, you will receive a consultation report, which you will need for the BAFA. You submit this along with the invoice and any other evidence.

  6. subsidy payment After review, you will receive the subsidy directly from the government.
